The teamThe Zulu people we employ are nearly all single mothers with large extended families who rely heavily on their wages, especially now that the AIDS epidemic has claimed so many lives.

Very many of them have had to take on orphaned children of sisters or brothers who have died.

Most of the workers have been with the firm for many years. Jennet Dlamini started in 1983,Theresa Khanyile in 1987, Rebecca Moya in 1990, Sindy Mungwe and Mandlovu Mncube in 1992 and Bheko Mungwe in 1993.

The others were taken on last year to replace people who had died. They are now skilled spinners and weavers in their own right.
